Ownership
What are the ways to own a racehorse with Jo?
There are four: the Supporters’ Club, lease and 1% shares, syndicate membership and full ownership. Compare them side by side.
How much does a syndicate share cost?
You pay 5 or 10% of the horse’s price, plus the same share of the monthly training fee, which is around £2,400 a month for the whole horse. For example, 5% of Love Me is £350 and then £93 a month. See current shares and prices.
Are there any other costs?
Not for syndicate members, unless there’s a serious vet’s bill. Race-day costs are taken out of any winnings, so your monthly payment doesn’t change.
What is a lease share?
The stable owns the horse, so there’s no purchase price. You pay your share of the training fees, and members share 50% of the winnings. 1% shares in Time to Fix It are £23 a month.
What is the Supporters’ Club?
For £45 a month you don’t own the horse, but you get many of the benefits: stable visits, the WhatsApp group and going to the races. In effect it’s a supporters’ club.
How will I hear how my horse is getting on?
Every ownership group has its own WhatsApp group, which the yard updates regularly.
Can I visit the yard?
Yes. Whatever group you’re in, you’re always welcome to visit and to come to our social days. Visits are by appointment. Arrange a visit.
Can Jo find a horse for me?
Yes. Tell us what you’re looking for and we’ll find it. With full ownership you pay the training fees, vets’ bills and race-day costs, and you keep all the prize money and any profit if the horse is sold.
Consultations
Who are consultations for?
Horse owners and riders of all ages and abilities. Whether it’s confidence, schooling, behaviour, horse management, buying a horse or retraining an ex-racehorse, Jo gives practical advice for your situation.
How do online consultations work?
Request a booking online and Jo will confirm your time and send a secure payment link. Send any videos or photos you’d like Jo to review, then meet by video call. Jo reviews everything beforehand so the session can focus on practical solutions.
Do I need to upload a video?
Not always, but videos help a lot and let Jo give more detailed, accurate feedback. If you can’t upload one, you can still talk it through in the session.
How long are consultations?
You can book 30 minutes (£50) or 60 minutes (£90).
What platform do you use?
A secure video call. Full joining instructions are sent after you book.
Can you guarantee results?
No. Every horse and rider is different. Jo gives honest, practical guidance, and progress depends on things like consistency, training, management and the individual horse.
Are you a vet or a veterinary behaviourist?
No. Jo provides equestrian coaching and consultancy based on many years of practical experience. Where a vet, physio, dentist, saddle fitter or other specialist is needed, she’ll always recommend one.
Can you help me buy a horse?
Yes. Jo can talk through suitability, training, temperament, management and any questions before you buy. It doesn’t replace a pre-purchase vetting.
Can children have consultations?
Yes. Riders under 18 are very welcome, but a parent or legal guardian must make the booking and be present.
Can I book a follow-up?
Absolutely. Many people find a follow-up useful once they’ve had time to work on the recommendations.
What is your cancellation policy?
Bookings cancelled more than 48 hours before the consultation can be moved or refunded. Bookings cancelled within 48 hours generally can’t be refunded, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Is the consultation confidential?
Yes, unless disclosure is required by law or needed to protect the welfare or safety of a person or animal.
What happens afterwards?
You’ll get a written summary of the key points, practical recommendations and an action plan.
Can you visit my yard in person?
Consultations are mainly online, so Jo can help people across the UK and abroad. In-person visits, clinics or demonstrations are sometimes offered and will be announced on the website and social media.
