A 19-length win at Worcester, a 25-1 winner at Ffos Las and a victory at Lingfield: how Jolie Baie found her feet.
Jolie Baie, Jolene to everyone at the yard, has a famously feisty character and is not above terrorising her handlers. Underneath it all she’s a big softy who loves her racing.
She began to blossom in 2023, finishing in the first four in all of her races, and only narrowly beaten into second in one of them. She capped that run by winning a maiden hurdle at Worcester by 19 lengths.
She followed up at Ffos Las in May 2024, at 25-1, and the progress kept coming: a second at Huntingdon, then a win at Lingfield. In eighteen months her rating went up by 30lb.
She stays well and is at her best on soft to heavy ground over three miles or more.
